Alan Hall - CFX top freelance rotoscope artist.

Was freelancing at Passion Pictures animation studio in the early 90's. Now left the industry.

Ann-Marie Butten - CFX Receptionist.

Now left the industry.
Arthur

Arthur Butten - CFX top freelance animator.

Now retired.
Ben

Ben Bosley - The last CFX runner.

Was a DTP designer in the mid 90's.

Bernard Fairman - CFX artist working alongside John Barton, later a popular freelance artist.

Left the industry and started a landscape gardenening business in California. Sadly passed away in the late 80s.

Bobby Logan - CFX Motion Control Assistant Cameraman.

Now a freelance camera loader, recently worked with Chris Lovegrove.

Has his own well organised Mobile Motion Services company, "Synchro Effects."

Cheryl Gomes - CFX Motion Control Receptionist and PA.

Now married to Paul (the modelmaker) living in Twickenham with two children.

Costas Charitou [web] [email] - CFX artist working alongside John Barton 1979-1987.

Jun 08: Now in a wheelchair (MS) but still working 3 days a week as a graphic artist at Rushes.

Now a freelance Motion Contol Cameraman.

Darren Hall - CFX Assistant Cameraman

Now left the industry.
Dave

Dave Smith [web] [email] - CFX Senior Cameraman.

After many years at Peerless, Dave is now producing at Deluxe Digital (formerly Capital FX) with Bob.

Denis Rich - Responsible for Special Visual Effects Design (and main title sequence) on Superman in 1978.

Still works as a storyboard artist for feature film and television.

Dick Clements - CFX Freelance all rounder.

Jul 08: Pete went to see Dick the other week, said he`s OK but a bit doddery, and just about remembers us all.

Doreen Wyatt - CFX accounts assistant, worked with Pat.

Now left the industry.
Gary

Gary Pearlman - CFX Joint Director.

Sadly died from a terrible illness in October 1999 (Wilson's Disease) - My thanks to Gary's daughter, Anna Pearlman, for supplying many of the pictures featured on this website.

Geoff Axtell [web] [email] - CFX Cameraman for six months in 1968 before setting up Axtell Hall & Associates with Alan Hall. Went on to set up Geoff Axtell & Associates, Camera Effects' rival optical house.

Now a Business Manager at Zero DB, a broadcast facilities company based in Maida Vale.

George Dunster - Worked with John Field in the neg assembly room.

Now left the industry.

George Hladky [email] - CFX Rostrum and Motion Control Senior Cameraman.

Has his own company Go-Moco in LA. Married Molly in 1999 and they now have a girl, Orla, and little boy Kian.
Tony + Godfrey

Godfrey Pye [web] - Founder of Rushes, purchased Camera Effects in 1986, and subsequently was bought out by Virgin in 1987.

Now president of Marketing at Sunset Post, Glendale, California.

Heather - CFX accounts assistant, worked with Pat.

Now left the industry.
Janet Yale

Janet Yale [web] - CFX Producer.

Executive Producer at ESC Entertainment, Alameda, California. Completed effects on "The Matrix" sequels and now busy working on new projects. Still with Gavin even though he lives in Vancouver.

James Aspinall - CFX Assistant Cameraman.

Famously left to work with Zoran Perisic's "Zoptic" front projection system on Superman. Now an established freelance cinematographer.

Working in film and TV making storyboards and fx designs in Helsinki.

Mick Burns [email] - CFX popular freelance artist.

Jun 08: Now retired. He was freelance up until '89 when he joined Richard Williams' Thief and Cobbler crew in Camden and stayed until its sad demise in 1992. (Thanks to his son Jonny Burns for the update)

Mike Uden - CFX Cameraman in the early days and left to work with Tony Long, then going on to set up Mike Uden Opticals, a rival optical house.

Left the industry, now teaching English to foreign business students.

Now retired.

Now left the industry and is driving a black cab. He and Denise now have two children, Sophie and Daniel.

Roy Pace - Founder of Camera Effects

Now a "Man of Leisure" and delighted us all in Soho for Malcolm's retirement lunch in Feb '05. Hopefully will be in contact soon with a few words about Camera Effects' early history.

Sean Broughton [web] - Was a CFX runner for a while.

Now very succesful and running Smoke and Mirrors, a bespoke digital effects house.

Sebastian Rich [web] - CFX Assistant Cameraman.

Went on to become a famous ITN news cameraman avoiding certain death many times, wrote an excellent book "People I Have Shot" (1990) and still working as a cinematographer. Now living with his partner Gilly in Cyprus.

Sharon Guiver [web] [email] - CFX Receptionist and PA.

Has now left the industry and working for a large PR agency.

Sheldon Barrington Elbourne - CFX Creative Director.

Has now left the industry, working in Islington as an area chargehand. Married to Donna with two kids, Dean and Lauren.

Has now left the industry and working as a chiropractor at his own clinic in Wiltshire.

Trevor Court [email] - CFX freelance artist, animator and model maker.

Whilst he is officially retired, he still gets jobs sent to him from NADA FILMS in Madrid. Keeping well and living in South London, spending as much time as he can in the family apartment in Tenerife. His two sons Matthew and Russell have inherited some of his skills.
Tony
Tony Long - CFX Cameraman in the early days before startingt up rivals Rank Post Productions then Tony Long Opticals. Returned as the CFX MD appointed by Godfrey Pye.

After leaving the industry, he became a professional Muff Diver and now resides in relative luxury in St Leonards Sur Mer, Sussex Est.
